SanDisk Extreme and Extreme Pro SSDs Get Even Faster

The SanDisk brand is upgrading the Farthermost and Extreme Pro Portable SSDs by doubling the data transfer speeds over the final generation models.

The Extreme Portable SSD tin now reach read speeds of 1050MB/s and write speeds of m MB/s. Meanwhile, the Extreme Pro model can hit 2000MB/s transfer rates for both read and write. Both products keep sale today over the Western Digital shop.

SanDisk's parent, Western Digital, is marketing the NVMe drives to photographers, videographers and heavy-duty users who are constantly taking images or 4K/8K video content, and need actress space to offload the data.

To enable the 2000 MB/south transfer rate on the Extreme Pro, the bulldoze has been fitted with a USB 3.two Gen 2x2 port. The higher transfer speed on the Extreme Pro may mean the SSD drives volition get warm when moving data.
